Being Remarkable – Better Isn’t Good Enough

being-the-bestIn this day and age, being the best or better isn’t good enough! You need to be remarkable to really stand out and get ahead…..

There is so much of everything today that we feel lost in this huge information ocean. There are so many sites, news, books, products, and services and so much of everything else you can imagine…..

On the other hand, as a future, or current, entrepreneur you want to get maximum exposure, to present yourself to the public and sell your products, services, etc. But with every new day it becomes harder and harder. You can not even be noticed in the variety of new ideas, new trends, and new products.

You have to be different; you have to become outstanding in order to be noticed. You should look like a purple cow to attract attention and to be able to offer high quality services and products.

Seth Godin has written a killer book “Purple Cow”. And it is all about how to become remarkable. I have bought this book and I am impressed! I recommend it to you for reading.

According to Seth in order to be remarkable, you should:

- Commit yourself to do the things today better than yesterday. Much better. Every day.

- Average is for losers. You should be remarkable to your target audience.

- Be extreme. Shock others in some way, attract their attention and keep it.

- Get to the edge. The remarkability is on the edges – best, biggest, smallest, fastest.

- Be exciting, not boring.

- Don’t be afraid to be remarkable.

- Change yourself, improve and grow constantly.

Do not allow others to move your cheese!

If you put the Empire State Building besides the John Hancock building what will you see? Just two big buildings. But what will happen if you put Empire State beside a Shell gas station? Which will you pay more attention to? Which one is remarkable and which one is just a building?

I love this saying and it is totally pertinent here…… “The only difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit extra!”

Go the extra mile today!

Years ago it was enough to be better than others and you could become popular. Your product could create an image of a top quality product and you could get to the top, but not any more. To be better is just not enough.

In a world so full of mediocrity, it really wont take that much to stand out and be remarkable! Being better is not good enough – start being the best, show your individuality to the world – start on your path to being remarkable now!

Get On the Winning Team by Creating a Winning Attitude

winning-attitudeDo you have a Winning Attitude? If not, you need to get one fast, so that you can join the Winning Team in Life – read on….

A vivid and defining difference between people who are successful and those who aren’t is the way they think. Successful people visualize their goals and take action to make them happen.

Unsuccessful people dwell on the negative, spend their time and energy complaining, and worry about things that are unimportant. This negativity wastes time and energy that could be harnessed toward achieving your goals.

Having a positive mental attitude helps you cope with challenges. When you’re put to the test, you’re more likely to find your inner strengths to overcome adversity, and that strength just might be your winning attitude. Whether or not you have the tools, skills, knowledge, or resources, your attitude can get you through tough times and come out on top.

On the other hand, an attitude filled with negative overtones makes everything much harder. You can’t win when you go into the contest prepared to lose! If you expect to do well, your attitude will create positive, winning thoughts that help you succeed.

Practice your Winning Attitude! – Practice Makes Perfect

If you hone your positive thinking skills and develop the mental attitudes of a winner, you’ll be able to overcome challenges without giving up. No matter how discouraging things may get or how intently others may try to dissuade you, with your winning attitude, you will be unstoppable!

A positive outlook enables you to focus on your goals with a tunnel vision that eliminates negative distractions and keeps you on a chartered course to success.

* Train your mind to focus on the good. Develop a positive mantra or affirmation to help you overlook the negative and realize the power of optimism.

Attitude Cause and Effect

It’s important to realize that for every effect in our lives, there’s a specific cause. Through positive thoughts, we can control these causes and change effects or outcomes. For every positive seed you plant, your thoughts will grow and reward you with a positive harvest. Negative seeds have the opposite effect. They’ll grow, but result in a spoiled and fruitless crop. You can’t plant negative seeds in your mind and expect positive results. It just doesn’t work that way. * In order to change your future for the better, you must first alter your thoughts in the present.

Train Your Attitude

An effective way to train your mind is to look at challenges as opportunities instead of obstacles. A problem is only a problem if you allow it to be one. With each challenge comes an opportunity to learn and improve. So if you search for solutions, you’ll find them. When you internalize this mindset, you’re sure to develop a winning attitude for a lifetime and reap the rewards of true success and happiness. Your attitude can make or break you. It’s virtually indisputable that your attitude determines how far you’ll go in life and a positive mental outlook can help you achieve optimal success. We often worry about our physical fitness, but do we think much about the fitness of our minds? Just as we train our bodies for peak performance, we must also train our minds by coaching ourselves to think winning thoughts and have a winning attitude!

Get on the Winning Team Now!…and have a great day :)

Find Inspiration for Free

inspirationHave you been looking for inspiration?
Every one needs a bit of inspiration now and then – here’s some free inspiration for you!

The next time you feel like you need some extra inspiration, try these sources. You may be surprised at how well they work to get you happily working toward fulfilling your goals and living the life you desire.

Sometimes life is tough and it’s hard to see the pot of gold waiting for you at the end of the rainbow. Fortunately, it’s easier than you think to find a source of inspiration that will motivate you and keep you on the right path toward your goals.

Here are a few quick and easy ways to find inspiration:

1. Find inspirational imagery.

Sometimes you come across inspiration by spotting something in nature, like a beautiful sunset or freshly fallen snow. Other times you may be inspired by a photograph, an image in a book, or a painting at an art gallery.

* Once you find an image that inspires you, rely upon it during stressful or difficult times as a visual reminder to keep moving forward.

* Perhaps the beauty of an image will inspire you to create something beautiful of your own. In the process, you’ll find new excitement and motivation to carry over into the other areas of your life.

* An image can also remind you of your destination, which will motivate you to work ever more swiftly with laser-like focus to reach your goal.

Feel free to download some of my beautiful Inspirational Wallpapers!

2. Use motivational quotes and affirmations.

It seems that no matter how many times you read or hear your favorite quote, it resonates with you almost as much as the very first time you heard it. Adding to your collection will bring you an ever-flowing well of new inspiration.

* As your goals change, look for quotes and affirmations that reflect your new path so you can gain the inspiration to persevere in your new direction.

Feel free to download my lovely little Positive Affirmations ebook or my Motivational Quotes ebook!

3. Watch motivational videos.

Websites like YouTube offer a plethora of motivational and inspirational videos. Some videos, such as the late Randy Pausch’s poignant “Last Lecture,” has inadvertently inspired millions, even though it was originally intended for a much more personal audience.

* People often use YouTube to tell their stories, share successes, and offer advice or encouragement. When facing a challenge, or if you need some words of wisdom from someone who’s “been there, done that,” you’ll surely find inspiration here.

4. Confide in strangers.

A method you may find surprising as a source of inspiration is to talk to strangers when out and about. There’s an understood confidentiality clause with strangers. Because of the anonymity factor, people may actually become comfortable with someone they may never see again.

 * Someone you meet by chance can bring you a new perspective on old challenges. The next time you’re out, try striking up a friendly conversation and share your thoughts.

 5. Let your neighbors inspire you with their stories.

When you hear someone’s story of personal triumph or hardship while standing in line at the neighborhood post office or sitting in the waiting room at your local doctor’s office, you just may be able to relate to this person.

* Because you’re neighbors or friends, it’s as if you have an instant connection. Their story could very well be yours, with a few different details. Seek out their stories and let them inspire you!

These are all great ways to find inspiration! Make sure you click on the links and access my free inspiration resources for Inspirational Wallpapers and the free ebooks (you can just download these! – no optin required!)

If you know some more great ways to become inspired, please leave a comment for me and my readers! :)

Acupuncture, Stress or De-Stress?

accupunctureToday I return to my Stress and Anxiety series, with a question…..
Can Accupuncture reduce stress or does it promote stress?

Firstly, What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing art that involves inserting fine needles at very precise pressure points throughout the body. The needles stimulate the body’s natural healing processes in its energy system.

Health Benefits of Acupuncture

Accupuncture can relieve the physical symptoms of stress that tends to accumulate in the neck, shoulders, and back, causing pain and tension. Headaches are another physical complaint resulting from stress. People who are under high levels of stress often have high blood pressure.

Acupuncture can relieve physical symptoms, such as tense muscles, and even help to lower blood pressure. Acupuncture leaves the body feeling calm and relaxed. An added benefit is that it improves the circulation of the blood throughout the body.

How Does Stress Treatment with Accupuncture Work?

Acupuncturists believe that energy flows through the body system through channels called meridians. This energy is referred to as Qi or Chi.

Stress causes an imbalance in the body’s energy and causes it to flow improperly. The Qi can become blocked and stagnant. It must be unblocked and flow freely in order to restore harmonious balance to the body.

By stimulating the proper acupressure points, the Qi can flow freely, and thereby can reduce stress induced mental and physical symptoms.

So Is This Stress Treatment Safe?

Acupuncture is perfectly safe when performed by a licensed practitioner. Acupuncturists are trained in the proper methods of stress treatment and all instruments are sterilized to prevent any risk of infection.

The Food and Drug Administration approved non-toxic needles made for single use application just for use in acupuncture treatments. The majority of people who undergo acupuncture feel no pain at all. A small percentage may feel very minimal pain. Bleeding rarely occurs.

Stress Related Health Conditions

Regular acupuncture treatments can reduce stress, help heal stress related health conditions and improve the body’s immunity to defend against potential illnesses.

In fact, in some cases, acupuncture that is being used to treat one condition can actually help detect another, more severe illness that had not been previously identified.

In such cases, acupuncture aids in early diagnosis and treatment. In another capacity, acupuncture can serve as a form of preventive measure against illness by alleviating stress and strengthening the body.

Accupuncture Treatment Sessions

A typical acupuncture session may last for 30 to 60 minutes. The patient will become very relaxed during the treatment and may even fall asleep.

Regular acupuncture treatments can help strengthen your body so you’re better able to deal with the day-to-day stresses of life. Acupuncture can also leave you feeling refreshed and energized.

The Body and Mind Connection

Stress is a perfect example of the interrelated connection between the body and mind.

Remember, acupuncture is just one method to relieve stress. It’s also important to learn positive and productive ways to cope with stress on a daily basis, thereby making the stress work for you rather than against you.

Find your own combination of de-stressing methods that work for you, and use them often to enjoy a happier and healthier life. Stress is a natural part of life, but with our seemingly never-ending hectic lifestyles, we are more stressed out than ever!

There are various techniques you can use to relieve stress, such as yoga, meditation, massage therapy and more. You may want to try several different methods to reduce stress to find a method you feel most comfortable with. Read more about Stress Relief and Anxiety.

How To Cope With The Economic Crisis

economic-meltdownOk, so we all know we are supposedly in an economic meltdown!
But what can you do to cope with the economic crisis at a grass roots level?

Well, in today’s addition to my money management series, I have some idea’s that you can use right now to re-assess and reorganize your finances so that you easily cope with the economic crisis! Read on……

As you may well know, we are currently in the worst economic situation since the Great Depression. What exactly does this mean and how can you survive until the economy gets back on its feet?

It’s far too easy to panic and make rash decisions when the future is uncertain and frightening, so don’t dwell on the latest news, just keep yourself in the loop.

The first thing to do is stay current on what’s happening with the economy. You need to have a basic understanding of it all and keep up with the changes that are happening as well. Without this information, you may make decisions that could be detrimental to your financial future.

Here are a few things to remember that can help you survive the economic meltdown:

1. Spend Wisely.

Where do you normally shop? If you answer high priced specialty stores, you may need to change your habits.

* Skip the Starbucks stop on your way to work and bring your morning coffee from home instead.

* Start heading to discount supermarkets and dollar stores. Believe it or not, dollar stores sell cleaning supplies for $1, as opposed to four or five dollars for the same thing in another store.

2. Spend Less.

This is pretty straightforward, but it’s an important reminder. If you went out to dinner 3 times a week before the economy dipped, try 2 times a month now. Put simply: if you don’t need to spend money on something, don’t. The money you save can help pay your bills.

* In this economy, survival requires sacrifice. You’ll have to cook at home more or maybe rent a movie instead of going to the theater. It could be worse, so make due with what you have!

3. Markets.

If you own stock invested in a long-term investment, leave it there. The markets will fluctuate up and down, and sometimes it will happen sharply. But over time, the market will recover; it’s a normal ebb and flow.

* If you’re concerned about your investments, ask a professional for their advice. Don’t pull it too soon in a knee-jerk reaction from a steep drop. This is the nature of the stock market and you should be prepared for this type of thing happening.

4. Diversify.

Simply put, don’t place all your eggs in one basket. If all your investments are in one place, spread them out. Look into CD’s, money markets and bonds. These types of investments are slow and steady and the principal is protected. I have also found Gold to be an excellent investment over the past few years!

In the meantime…..

get creative and find new ways to make some extra money and save on expenses during the economic crisis:

* The worst thing you can do in this economy is ignore the fact that there’s a problem or think it won’t affect you. Consider everything expense you have and devise ways you can get it for less. You can make this recessionary economy work to your benefit by negotiating cheaper rates.

* Look into home based Internet businesses and ways to generate passive income. Affiliate marketing is great for this. There are places all over the Internet with these types of programs.

* Search through your garage, attic and basement for things you own that you don’t need anymore and sell them online.

You may have to look a little harder for opportunities, but they’re still there. Take the skills you have, along with your passion, and find ways to generate some passive income from them. When you do these things, you’ll be able to weather the storm and come out ahead!

These times are tough. Unemployment is on the rise, jobs are harder to find, and businesses are closing down faster than ever before. Still, this is not something to fear. These things happen. It’s all part of a cycle and the economy will bounce back.

I hope you can see the light at the ned of the tunnel – it is there!
Just utilize a few of these simple suggestions on how to cope with the economic crisis and you will find that although it can be considered by some as a disasterous economic meltdown, its all about how we deal with the issue at hand!
