How Important Is Goal Setting?

A business manager of a major auto manufacturer has set a five-year goal for himself. At the tender age of 29, he has accomplished all but one; buying a home. “This,” he states definitively, “will occur at age 35.” If you ask, how important is goal setting? In his case, it is very important. His success met the five criteria for setting effective goals: express goals positively; set precise goals; prioritize the goals; write down the goals, and keep the goals small, thus easier to achieve.

Out with old excuses. In with new goals. Click Here.

Why do we need to set goals to achieve? Without goals, there is no direction; no focus; no reason to become involved in anything worthwhile. More importantly, controlling that which we wish to achieve is how we live; how we operate our business; how we win a race; how we can enhance our skills; our performance; and how we gain self-confidence.

Goals must be specific; not unrealistic. To say you will become a millionaire in a year is a goal you may not meet. However, if the measure of success is reasonable, it can be attainable using your own standards for success.

The pressures of society to amass great wealth in the shortest amount of time are based upon other’s goals and desires, not yours. You must have a clear understanding of what goals you are trying to achieve, and exhibit the skills and knowledge to achieve them.
Achieving goals based on one particular event does not in any way ensure success in another.

What’s keeping you from reaching your full potential? Learn to break through and find lasting success.

Grabbing the brass ring can be difficult. It may be just out of reach, but is attainable. Use the same analogy in achieving your goals. Set them just out of reach, but within your grasp; giving you the determination and commitment to reach for it. Keep yourself healthy, fit and free of diversions. Focus on the goal; and never lose sight of it.

Ensure you acquire the skills needed to achieve the goal. Gather as much information and knowledge as you can. Ask for help whenever you need to; it is not a sign of weakness.
Use whatever resources are available to you; make lists along the way. Many times ideas may crop up which will bring you closer to your goal. Never assume anything. Research every possibility. If a particular idea doesn’t pan out, try another; and another. Don’t give up; or give in.

Achieve real, lasting results today. 30% off Anthony Robbins Multimedia

Most everyone has a goal in life, from losing weight to winning the Super Bowl. Keep in mind, however, sometimes life gets in the way of the very thing you are trying to achieve.
It may be a momentary set-back, but don’t give up the dream, the goal, or the path that will lead you to it.

How important is goal setting? Very Important Indeed!

Affirmations That Attract Prosperity

Do you have a hard time focusing on prosperity? Do you find yourself struggling with negative thought habits that only seem to attract more lack and difficulty into your life? Affirmations are one simple tool you can use to turn it around.

Affirmations work by delivering new messages to your subconscious mind. Most often, this involves replacing old, limiting messages with new, empowering messages.

However, the way you word your affirmations will usually determine how effective they are.

If I asked you to recite this affirmation: “I am a millionaire,” how effective do you think it would be? Would you turn into an overnight millionaire? Would money start falling out of the sky to land in your lap?

Probably not. Why? Simply because you know the statement isn’t true. If you try to feed your subconscious mind a belief that you are a millionaire, it creates a conflict with your current set of beliefs. Your subconscious mind does not like conflict, and it doesn’t like change – so nothing in your life changes either!

Grab my Free Affirmations Handbook Here!

In order for affirmations to work, you MUST word them in a way that your subconscious mind won’t resist. In other words, make them believable.

Compare the above affirmation to one like this: “I am becoming more prosperous every day.”

That one feels better, doesn’t it? Your mind doesn’t try to resist it because you can actually imagine it happening (even if it hasn’t begun to happen yet).

Another power-boost for affirmations is to word them in a way that places more responsibility on you. For example, instead of affirming, “I am becoming more prosperous every day,” you could say, “I am open to the best opportunities to make money quickly and easily.” The wording of such an affirmation makes you feel more in control of your circumstances. Rather than waiting anxiously for money to fall out of the sky, you send a message to your subconscious mind that you can control how much money you have by being alert to great opportunities and prosperity.

Affirmations can vary in the length of time required to firmly “take root” in your mind. For the most part, it depends on the intensity of your opposing beliefs and the level of effort you put forth in turning those beliefs around. If your focus on lack is very strong, you’ll probably have to expend a fair amount of energy and effort to train your mind to focus on prosperity.

However, it is time and effort well spent because the more you focus on positive thoughts and prosperous beliefs, the more you’ll find yourself attracting good things into your life.

Here are a few good affirmations to help get you started on the road to prosperity:

• I use my thoughts and emotions to attract abundance effortlessly.

• I am becoming more prosperous and successful every day.

• I know I have what it takes to be as successful as I want to be.

• I am talented and resourceful.

• I create a better life one positive thought at a time.

There are so many affirmations that attract prosperity out there that can be of benefit in your search for success! Find them and use them!

Is Stress Getting You Down?

Unfortunately, there are many times in our lives when stress creeps in and causes great angst. Life is busy and work, kids, school and responsibilities can seem overwhelming at times. Do you feel stress getting you down? Here are some tips to help deal with stress and its after-effects.

Stress has become a major cause of anxiety and panic attacks. If not dealt with, it can have an incapacitating effect on your life. More often than not, most people with A-type personalities are prime candidates for stress induced symptoms. The perfectionism they seek in everything they do never quite measures up to their expectations. This is not a perfect world; and it’s time those who live in it realize they aren’t perfect either.

Most people deal with stress in different ways; either they ignore the initial problem which caused it; retreat within themselves, or fall apart. However, those who recognize the signs nip it in the bud before it completely takes over. Using simple exercises can relieve the onset of stress. For example: While sitting at your desk at work, breathing exercises can bring you back to a calm state. Going outside for some fresh air also helps.
Walking or running for 20 minutes can release endorphins which relieve stress. Listening to classical music lowers the blood pressure, and brings calm within.

Sometimes, however, stress reveals itself in other ways. Lightheadedness, an inability to focus, feelings of pressure and palpitations are all symptoms of stress. Moreover, continued stress can produce anxiety, panic, and the fright or flight syndrome. Here is one such case of how stress can simply overwhelm and, in some cases, debilitate.

A secretary was called into her administrator’s office, which was quite large and comfortable. As she was taking dictation, she suddenly found it hard to breathe; began to lose focus; and a queasy feeling in her stomach ensued. She could no longer concentrate on his voice, and ran out of the room.

Unbeknownst to her, she had just experienced an anxiety attack brought on by stress. However, while there was nothing stressful going on at the time, she later identified the cause. An unpleasant thought had entered her mind while she was taking dictation, causing fear to take over forcing her to flee the office.

Upon further examination, it was determined the stress in her home life simply became too much, and filtered its way in to her work day.

If stress is getting you down, examine the cause. Determine the origin, and discuss it with a professional or a loved one. Stress, if not acted upon, can cause serious health problems. Avoid it at all costs, if you can.

Is stress getting you down? – do something about it now!

My Top Tips on How to Get Out of Debt by Balancing Your Checkbook

Well, with Christmas over for another year – how is your bank balance looking?
In the past, there have been times when I have fallen victim to overspending during the festive season and I thought some of my readers might know what I mean!

So, here are some of my top tips on how to get out of debt!

If you want financial freedom, you need to pay off your debts as quickly as you can. This may sound obvious, but if it were so obvious, why are so many of us in debt to begin with?

Financial freedom begins with balancing your checkbook. This means what goes into your checking account must be greater than (or at least equal to) what comes out.

If what comes out of your checking account exceeds what goes into it, you’re living with a deficit. This may mean that you’re simply not paying the bills you need to pay or you’re depleting your savings and, at some point, you’ll run out of money.

What Is Deficit Financing?

Deficit financing means you’re buying things on credit, either by using credit cards or by taking out loans, such as a loan against the equity of your home. Any way you slice it, you’re taking on more debt.

If you make the minimum monthly payment on a credit card, it could take 30 years to pay off the debt and, in between those minimum payments, interest continues to accrue at astronomical rates. At the end of all this, you’ll pay much more for the product or service than the original price tag, even though you got more time to pay off the bill.

Deficit financing – spending more than you make – can be a short-term solution in tough times, but in the long-run, it will never bring you the financial freedom you need. Banks are eager to give people what they think they want – buying “stuff” with other people’s money. Many consumers see financed debts as “free” money, but needless to say this is ridiculous! You have to pay the piper sooner or later, and it’s always better to pay him as soon as possible.

There is no such thing as free money; you either have to borrow it and pay it back with interest, you have to earn it, or you have to make it.

* You earn money by working for somebody else

* You make money by running your own business and providing goods or services that are needed by others

* You borrow it by using credit cards, loans, and lines of credit.

How To Balance Your Checkbook

Balancing your checkbook is all about getting and staying out of debt. So how do you accomplish this balance? Well, it all begins with tracking every financial transaction: cash, credit, or debit.

* You should keep all of your receipts. This includes whenever you pull out money from an ATM or use your debit card to pay a bill.

* Keep all of your cancelled checks in a safe place. At least once a month, check your existing checking account balance according to your calculations against your bank statement. This is much easier to do these days than it used to be thanks to the Internet, so you should be checking fairly frequently.

* List every bank fee in your checkbook register, including overdrafts, returned check fees, or late fees from your creditors. Schedule electronic payments for your bills to eliminate late fees and balance your checkbook regularly to eliminate other bank fees.

Become Money Conscious

Only you have control over becoming debt-free and wealthy. Learning smart money management tips will put you on the path to financial freedom.

* Make a household budget with all your monthly expenses and compare it to your checkbook and bill schedule.

* Seek advice from trusted experts about ways to cut down your monthly expenses to eliminate the reliance on credit cards and loans.

Your objective is to pay out less from your account than you are putting into it. If you aren’t doing this, you’ll need to figure out how you can cut expenses as soon as possible to reach financial freedom.

So, if you take these handy tips into consideration during the next year – you will be in a postion to get through next Christmas without getting yourself into financial hot water!

Use my tips on how to get out of debt by balancing your checkbook and I’ll have some more tips on different ways and suggestions on how to get out of debt over the coming weeks!

Balancing Work and Family Time

It’s the age-old struggle: how do you balance your work and family in a way that makes you feel fulfilled and guilt-free. Is it possible?

A typical day could be 8 hours at work and 2 hours commuting, yet family leisure time hasn’t even begun! It seems like there just aren’t enough hours in the day to balance both family and work, but there really are ways to make your life more manageable. With a few simple tweaks to your schedule and a re-evaluation of your life goals, you can find fulfillment without feeling stretched thin at work or at home.

Evaluate Your Career Path

The best way to start changing how you approach the limited hours in your day is to evaluate your career path. Ask yourself: “Am I working in a career that I am truly passionate about? Is the trade-off between work and family worth the time I spend at the office?”

Asking yourself these types of questions (at any point in your career) will help you keep your priorities in check. The bottom line question is: am I able to attend to both my work and my family? If not, what needs to happen to find balance? Perhaps this means a change of career to allow for more quality time, money, or less overall responsibilities and stress.

Evaluate Your Commute and Career-Related Traveling

Start thinking of all the time and expenses incurred relating to your job. It isn’t just the working hours that take away from your spouse or kids. Commuting could cost you a couple hours a day, while business trips could take away countless hours of valuable time that you could otherwise be spending with your family.

Evaluating these aspects of your job will help you decide whether it’s worth it, and if not, what you could do to change that. For example, you could ask you employer if they would allow you more freedom with your work hours. Or you could ask if your boss would allow you to work from home. You just may be surprised with what your boss has to say!

Evaluate Your Career Duties

By evaluating your task schedule, you may be able to re-allocate your time and possibly cut down on late nights or early mornings at the office. Another important workplace strategy is to delegate tasks to others. If you typically handle everything in your department, it’s time to get help by involving others. By delegating responsibilities to staff members, you not only empower your staff to have a more active role, but you also allow yourself more time to be home with your family.

Evaluate Your Priorities

Before you are able to adequately balance your work and family life, you have to determine what’s most important to you: money and self-fulfillment or time with your family. Once you know the answer to this question, you’ll be able to better navigate your way to a happy and balanced life.

You may also want to calculate how much money your family needs to be happy and measure that against how much time you are willing to give to your career. If your current job will never give you that balance or flexibility you desire, it may mean that you need to consider other career paths. Or if your current employer won’t allow more vacation time, flexible schedules or remote work, it may be time to consider a new job at a different company.

Few people duck out of the rat race long enough to evaluate the bigger picture, this is why it’s integral to stop now and evaluate what is most important to you and your family.

Use these tips when trying to work out the path and you will balancing work and family time with greater ease!
