If you’re a dad you are likely experiencing stress on a daily or weekly basis. Here are some great stress management tips that you can work into your life so you can continue to be the very best dad you can be, regardless of how old your children are.

Its common (for women) to think that Dads get the easy job, they go to work and come home while mum does everything else – but this is not true. Stress Management Tips Just For Dads

1. Be a member of a team. Make your family your team. If you try to do everything on your own, you will suffer burnout in no time. When everyone pitches in around the house, you will find that you have a lot less stress overall and you can be a more attentive and involved father.

2. Make sure that you are taking care of yourself. Not only does your family count on you being well, so does your employer, friends, and others. Eat right, get enough sleep, and make sure you are taking vitamins. When you combine these things, you help to fight off stress by building up your immune system so you are more likely to be healthy.

3. Create a support network. When you are stressed out or angry you should be able to talk to someone to vent. Sometimes just being able to say how you are feeling or what is stressing you out can help a lot. Your support network can consists of your spouse, friends, or even family members.

4. Make time management a priority. When you are a parent you have a lot of different things vying for your time. That’s why you’ll want to manage your time well so you can be where you need to be, when you need to be there. You can do simple things to make your life and the lives of your family members easier. For example, create a chores schedule, work together with your spouse to prepare meals ahead of time, or create a schedule to pick up the kids. When you manage your time you will be able to get more done without the headaches.

5. Communicate with your spouse. When you have kids it can be difficult to get a full thought out in one breath because of constant interruptions. That’s all the more reason to make a concerted effort to communicate well with your spouse. This will allow you to work better as a team so the family unit functions well, but it will also help you be attentive to one another’s needs. After all, you need to love and support each other first!

Do you hate getting out of bed to go to work because your work situation is too stressful? Many people find that it’s not so much their job that causes them stress, but the people around them and the environment they are working in. You may find that the people you work with are intolerable or that the setup of your work place is simply not conducive to getting things done efficiently.

Workplace stress is at an all-time high, but in many cases, you’ll be able to overcome this stress using the workplace stress tips mentioned below. If the work environment becomes too stressful to deal with, you’ll want to take action. After all, you must put yourself first if prolonged and unmanaged stress becomes destructive to your body and mind.

Dealing with workplace stress is something many of us have to face every day, but you don’t have to let it get you down. Instead, by learning how to deal with your stress at work you’ll be able to boost your energy and reduce frustration.

How to Deal with Stressful Work Environments

1. Create a daily to-do list. Many times when we are stressed out, it’s because we are trying to juggle too many things without saying no from time to time. This causes our stress levels to rise quickly and uncontrollably. When you create a to-do list, it won’t matter how hectic the office gets or how many people are slacking off; you’ll have a list in front of you that’ll remind you what needs to get done for that day. You’ll feel more in control when you organize your day and you’ll be able to find some peace in the chaos surrounding you.

2. Create a space conducive to concentration. If your office is open-concept, you may find the hustle and bustle around you to be distracting. If this is the case, try setting up your work space so that everything you need is right in front of you so you don’t have to continually get up to grab stuff. Also, try putting up a privacy screen (if possible), or rearrange your furniture or computer screen to create a barrier of sorts between you and the rest of the office.

3. Move around within the company or find a better fit elsewhere. Many people simply cannot overcome the stressful environment in which they work. Besides, no one should work in a situation where they always feel on edge! If you have a job that is too demanding or rarely allows for you to tend to your personal life, then it may be time to find a better fit. Getting a new job can be stressful in itself, but when you find something that is right for you, you’ll notice the old way of stressful living will melt away and you’ll be left with a happier, healthier, and more peaceful life.

4. Use positive imagery when you feel stress coming on. Focus on a happy or peaceful moment in your past, or keep a picture on your desktop that will help to put you at ease. Many people find that they can control stress by allowing themselves to go to a peaceful place for just a couple of moments.

5. Learn how to meditate. Meditation is a form of deep concentration that can help you restore peace and balance in your life. You can make prayer or meditation a part of your every day life so when stress levels are rising, you can regain your composure nearly effortlessly. As you practice your meditation techniques, you’ll be able to do it without anyone even noticing, and you’ll bring a calmer and more focused energy to the office.

We all have to work at something – but workplace stress can really get you down if you let it go on for any prolonged period of time. Take control and take action to reduce your stress – it will be better for you and your health, not to mention your sanity!

Past Conflict and disputes will hang around forever if you let them!
Here are some simple tips to conflict management and some alternative dispute resolutions, that encompass some relatively easy techniques that you can try today!

Past conflict will come back to haunt you one day! It has me – I had a falling out with a girlfriend over 20 years ago, and we never spoke again!……..until one day, unbeknown to both of us we were invited to the same wedding. To cut the long story short, once she had a few drinks into her, the past conflict emerged! It turned out that the thoughts surrounding our fall out years ago were not only untrue but also quite unreasonable. (funny how 15 year olds think!) well…….she ruined the reception with an outburst about a boy we both liked in school and I left early – totally embarrassed!

She found me the next day (after her hang over had subsided) and we used some of the following conflict management and alternative dispute resolution strategies below, to mend our broken relationship!

We are besties again – I can only think……what a waste of over 20 years!

Conflict is never an easy thing to deal with, but old, deeply rooted conflicts can really affect your body, mind and spirit. When you allow a past conflict to stew and become a defining part of a relationship, it can be challenging to move forward, but it’s not impossible, it’s just a matter of taking the right conflict strategy or finding an alternative dispute resolution approach.

Try hard to look at the Conflict with an Open Heart and Mind

Lots of times a past conflict can be resolved by simply looking at it with a fresh, calm perspective. Conflict management prevails when you learn how to look at a past conflict without raising your blood pressure or losing sleep, then you’ll be much more likely to find an amicable resolution.

Are you objective? The first thing you should do is look at the conflict objectively. You need to raise all of the issues on your mind, but you must always be respectful. Actively listen to the other person, then ask that they do the same for you. Remember to focus on the problem, not the person because personal attacks have never solved anything! If you’re having a difficult time communicating, a third-party can help mediate the discussion so that all parties are equally heard.

Try using your mutual interests and concerns as a starting point. I wont use my example above but lets try……..for example, if you were fighting with a sibling over a parent’s estate, perhaps you were both trying to ensure that the estate was as fair and balanced as possible. Go forward from this point so that you start at a place where you both agree. ( I have aliviated my 7 kids of this problem -there will be no estate!….lol)

Use the old grey matter and brainstorm resolutions that everyone can agree on. Conflict usually occurs when one or both parties sense inequality, so get together and brainstorm ideas that will help you resolve the conflict. You may find that you are actually building on one another’s ideas. That’s a good thing! The goal is to come to a resolution that provides mutual gain and contentment.

Another good addition to your new conflict management arsenal is to apply standards. Create standards of how things will be going forward and create all of your agreements surrounding these standards. This will help to ensure that you don’t have the same obstacles in the future. By setting specific standards, everyone will be able to communicate in the most respectful and effective manner moving forward.

Im sure you have heard the saying “Accept What You Cannot Change”

We all hear that we should accept the things that we cannot change, but this is much easier said than done often times. When it comes to past conflicts you should always seek to resolve them first. If you cannot, it’s time to accept the things that you cannot change.

* Give up control. When you give up trying to control what is uncontrollable suddenly the stress of dealing with the conflict dissolves. You will feel like a mountain has been lifted off of your shoulders and you may find that you have a whole new look on life as well as the conflict and the person or people involved with it.

* Share what you feel. When you are feeling angry, hurt or upset, try sharing your feelings with a trusted friend or family member. It’s easier to move past conflicts when you have sounding boards at your disposal. You don’t necessarily have to talk to someone who was involved in the conflict, just share your feelings openly and honestly. By getting it out of your mind and off your chest, you’re able to find peace within your heart.

* Always look for the positives. There are always positive things that come from every situation, even the most bitter of all conflicts. For example, you may have realized the importance of communication, interpersonal relationships, or forgiveness. When you can find something positive about a past situation you’ll find that coping with conflict is much easier.

* Focus on forgiveness. When you focus on forgiveness, the pain associated with conflict suddenly disappears. After all, we all make mistakes from time to time. When you realize that we live in an imperfect world it’ll be easier to let go of the hurt feelings and anger associated with the conflict.

I think one of the most important but most overlooked conflict management strategies, and therefor this is my best alternative dispute resolution technique, is the ability to recognize individuality!

Everyone is different! We were all brought up differently, we all have different beliefs and motivators!
If we all thought the same way there would be no conflict to deal with!
If you can recognize and acknowledge that we are all our own person, you will go far!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion – its just that sometimes people insist you conform to their way of thinking – and Bingo – Dispute! Maintain your respect, dignity and maturity when dealing with past conflict and you wont go too far wrong.

Use these tips for future conflict management and Im sure you will be feeling less burdoned in no time! If you take time and deal with the issues rather than leaving them locked away you WILL feel better for it. Conflict management and alternative dispute resolution is just a necessary part of life!

Start Using Positive Self Talk to Stop Procrastinating

Click here to take control of your life and learn ways to thrive, not just survive.

Positive self talk is the practice of responding to your mind’s thoughts as they happen. If you know you have a big project you need to start working on today and you think it can wait until tomorrow, for example, you can stop and remind yourself that it needs to be started today. During those moments when you want to wait until tomorrow, you can use positive self talk to make sure you don’t put off until tomorrow what needs to be done today. Positive self talk can stop the negative internal dialogue before it gets to the point of being overwhelming.

Positive self talk is a great way to stop procrastinating because you can talk yourself out of procrastinating the minute you start! The problem for most of those who procrastinate is that it is just the way we do things. We don’t even necessarily think about why we procrastinate. It’s our normal approach to life, and it’s hard to stop something we have been doing for so long. Positive self talk is a great approach to stopping procrastination as it starts because the self talk occurs in the moment!

Many people use affirmations to help with positive self talk. Affirmations are positive statements you can use to help you steer clear of procrastination. You should repeat these affirmations when you feel the urge to procrastinate.

Relax and allow affirmations to go through your subconscious mind! Maximum Achievement Affirmation. Achieve your goals now.

An example of an affirmation that may help you with procrastination may be: “I feel no need to create obstacles for myself. I move forward, stronger than ever,” or, “By keeping organized and using my time wisely, procrastination melts away.” These are concise statements that can be memorized so no matter where you are when you begin to procrastinate, you can repeat these positive statements to yourself. Doing this helps you to talk yourself out of procrastination mode.

Once you repeat the process of positive self talk many times, you’ll be able to combat procrastination, lead a much less hectic life, and the people in your life will thank you for the change in the way you deal with things! When used effectively, positive self talk can change your life for the better. So stop procrastinating and start talking to yourself!

Would you like a FREE program from Brian Tracy?

As you can see, positive self talk is a great way to combat procrastination. You can reprogram the way you think when you use your affirmations. Find Inspiration And Avoid Stress At Work

Do you find that when you get to the office, your motivation and inspiration for your daily work duties leaves you and you have no enthusiam for your work? Here are some helpful ideas to get you going towards a better work day!

Simple Ideas to find Inspiration at Work

One of the best ways to put yourself in a position to find the neccesary motivation is to make sure you are comfortable. You need to make sure your chair supports your back, your desk is at the right height, and you have an ergonomically correct keyboard and mouse. Repetitive strain injuries have been on the rise for some time now, so speak up and you just might find your employer willing to cooperate. Im sure he would rather adjust the environment rather than deal with a workers compensation claim!

If that is not so – Worst case: bring in your own office supplies or equipment. There’s no reason that your body has to suffer even if your boss is an ass!

Clean Up and De-Clutter Your Workspace

I find inspiration by getting rid of the clutter on my desk and getting everything back to tidy! A cluttered workspace can zap you of your creativity because you spend more time trying to find things than actually getting your work done.

Look at your workspace objectively and ask yourself: “What absolutely NEEDS to be here?” Remove the things that make you feel claustrophobic, stop hoarding rubbish and toss the things you never use. File or bin anything else as your work items should be filed away in an organizational system that works for you.

Here’s the bottom line: just hold on to the things that are vital for your daily chores or will propell you towards success in your duties! Keeping anything else serves no purpose and adds nothing more than clutter and distraction. Then, all this clutter zaps your motivation and inspiration, so avoid it! Now, if you do this, you will feel so much better! You will be more relaxed and able to think more clearly.

How Can You Create an Inspirational Computing Experience?

Are you in an office? do you spend the majority of your time on a computer? Do you ever clean up your computer? or do you have 72,000 emails sitting around and files you never use saved to your hard drive? Clean out your computer! Delete all your temporary internet files and your computer will run faster and then bring inspiration into your workspace through inspirational wallpapers.

Now, these usually free downloads can be very helpful in inspiring you during that long 8-10 or 12 hours! Try checking out a picture of the Bahamas. I for one, know just how hard it is to stare at a screen all day and remain motivated – its tough. But if you have to stare at it – make it something Inspirational!

You can check out these wallpapers when you are having a hard time getting started, getting motivated, or just finding the inspiration to push forward. Inspirational wallpapers typically contain beautiful landscapes with inspirational quotes or sayings. Sometimes all you need to get going is a gentle push in the right direction, and inspirational wallpapers just might be what the doctor ordered. It really can be that simple!

The great thing about these wallpapers is that they don’t take up any physical space, so there’s no need to worry about clutter. You also can use some of the images and quotes on the wallpaper to create screensavers for your computer. Your computer has the potential to inspire you in so many ways!

Inspiration, motivation and the ability to avoid stress can often seem impossible to find at work, but you may need to think outside of the box and find ways to get inspired. Keep things simple and don’t let clutter get you down.

A really good idea is to listen to your Ipod or similar – if you can!

Anytime I need a boost – I put on a personal development cd and listen deeply and contently. This is particularly helpful even when I happen to be really down or stressed!

Now , if you are like me, and work from home – it can be really tough to stay on track somedays. If you have tried all of the above only to find you are still missing something, then get up and go for a walk around the block!

After all, this is the main benefit to working for yourself! You can get up and go anytime you want to, especially if its for a quick rejuvenation walk! Where I live is almost surrounded by water. I have the beach on one side, an inlet on the other and a lagoon on the other! I am just across the water from the inner city and have an extemely pituresque outlook. I feel very priveledged to have my own personal everchanging screensaver!

When you feel down for whatever reason, use self help techniques to find motivation and inspiration at work. If you can avoid stress at work or better still avoid stress altogether, life will be a better place for you. Find Inspiration and motivation now – go look high and low if you have to.
Thats all for now – have a great day!
